Cricket Lovers Club wishes everyone a happy, safe, and blessed new year ahead. We all know that 2020 was a year filled with loss, grief, introspection, and hope. It humbled us in myriad of unimaginable ways and made us realize how vulnerable and fleeting human life, and what constitutes of it, is. Unlike some people, the COVID-19 pathogen didn’t distinguish between race, religion, class, creed gender, or any such man-made construct. It impacted every one of us in a plethora of ways- Many of us even lost our loved ones. 2020, which is almost an adjective in itself, has taught us to do better for humanity as well as the ecosystem that we are all part of.

So, when the clock strikes 2021, let us all take a strong pledge and resolve to not let millions of lives go in vain. While 2020 was a year of reflection, 2021 must be a year of effectuating those very reflections. We must do better as human beings. We must unlearn to be acrimonious with each other. Rather, we must relearn to be kind, compassionate, and empathetic towards one another, not just with the ones who look or share similar belief systems as we do. We must, at least, take away that one trait from the pathogen that impacted and killed millions across the globe. CLC, as a sport and a club, believes in the same philosophy.
