Poly beyond dating

Do You have a partner who responds to (family) texts when the other two are in bed…doing bed stuff… or is it just us? 😂😂
Common stereotypes of poly triad partners
04/24/2026
The up side of a triad-more love and support. Kristain was diagnosed with breast cancer two months ago and had a double mastectomy two weeks ago. Today we were all there for her drains to come out. It’s still a long road of chemo, radiation…. But we are here for it. More love. More support.
I cornered JT to ask him about jealousy.
What kind of jealousy does JT experience in our open triad? JT is kinda shy about making videos, so I cornered him doing something he loves, driving me around.
We treat long relationships like automatic success.
But time doesn’t tell you anything about:
• growth
• happiness
• alignment
It just tells you… people stayed.
Some relationships last because they’re strong.
Others last because they’re stuck.
And those are not the same thing.
Our love expands. Does yours?
A lot of people say they want commitment.
But when you really break it down…
what they want is certainty, priority, and control.
And exclusivity feels like it guarantees those things.
It doesn’t.
So the question becomes—
what actually makes you feel secure in a relationship?
People say “love is infinite” all the time.
But the second it’s tested… it suddenly becomes very finite.
I used to believe that too.
Until I had more than one child and realized love doesn’t divide—it expands.
The harder question is whether we actually believe that applies to romantic relationships.
We’ve been taught that if a relationship isn’t “progressing,” it’s failing.
More time.
More merging.
More entanglement.
But what if some relationships are already complete exactly as they are?
No next step. No missing piece.
Just… intentional.
A lot of people say they want this.
I’m not convinced most would actually feel secure in it.
Relationship agreements are essential at the start of a poly relationship.
