Here is how you get yourself out of this negative cycle. (Don’t worry, it’s much simpler than you think.) ⬇️

And don’t beat yourself up about being in this spot. MOST people (especially perfectionist high-achievers) are falling short of the expectations they have for themselves because they are making one or both of these mistakes:

1️⃣ Trying to commit to too much.

2️⃣ Being unclear about EXACTLY what they should be disciplined about.

So let’s fix this.

Don’t try to be disciplined in every minute, with every decision of the day‼️This is a losing battle, which then forms the habit of losing, which then forms a negative cycle and self-image… 🔄

Instead, focus on “WINNING THE 30.”

Let me explain—Choose one thing to commit to for 30 minutes per day. Maybe this is 30 minutes of exercise, or 30 minutes of prospect calls, or 30 minutes of content creation, etc.

The earlier in the day you can commit to this 30 minutes, the better. Block it off in your calendar. 📆

Tell yourself that if you WIN THIS 30, YOU WIN THE DAY. 🏆🏆🏆

And this isn’t just blowing smoke—when you start your day by following through with the discipline of that 30 minutes, you will get the benefit of the performance-enhancing neurotransmitters that come along with that win.

This forms a POSITIVE CYCLE of winning and following through 🏆 The results will speak for themselves 🙌

How do you know when it’s time to move on?

Getting out of the shower kind of sucks. It’s cold 🥶 You have to dry off. Put on a million different lotions. Dry your hair….

Do you ever find yourself staying in because you don’t want to get out?

This, Ladies and Gents, is what they call a HOLDING PATTERN, and we want to avoid these at all costs❗️Get out. Dry off. Put on your lotions. Get to the next amazing part of your day. Drying your hair is optional, but staying because you don’t want to go through the process of the next steps in NOT.

What is that next thing in life that you want??? Is there something you have to let go of to make that happen? Get out of the shower and get after it! YOU ARE WORTH IT.

And because I promised you my personal story in that cryptic caption—💃🏻

Dancing was a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I always knew it would sting when I retired. I weirdly secretly hoped it would end with an injury or something that made it an easy decision. But, unfortunately that never happened ;) In fact, I still felt like I was getting better and better. Great, but also annoying in this decision making process…. As my coaching business was taking off and becoming more and more fulfilling and exciting to me, I knew I was holding myself back from what was next for me by dividing my focus. I also felt so proud of my dancing career, and it was a great place to leave it. That being said, it still wasn’t that much of a quick and easy decision. I probably “knew” all this on some level for months before I actually pulled the trigger (about a week before the next season was about to start (😬 oops!). As soon as I realized that I was staying because I didn’t want to go through the process of leaving, I made the uncomfortable phone call. ❤️

One last thing—those people you are worried about disappointing will get over it. ESPECIALLY if they care about you. NO HOLDING PATTERNS ALLOWED.
