Idol Wolf is one of the prettiest bars and dining rooms in St. Louis. Plus, you can cruise through the free museum of amazing changing exhibits (right now is The Future is Female). Love the tuna toast! Also had maitake mushrooms, spicy cauliflower and fresh gazpacho.

Best birthday meal out in a long time! Thanks to and our terrific server, Tea, for a night where we all felt special. It was my husband’s birthday and so appreciated that someone noticed that on the reservation and made a little fuss.

It started with a sparkling rose 🍷 toast and ended with limoncello, fantastic cookies (a plate that was like Christmas in July) and lots of homemade and interesting ice creams: matcha, cherry pie and lychee. In between, there was a steak, frites, salads with lardons and a tomato stuffed with herbs and spiced yogurt sauce. Everything was truly delicious. Even the French onion soup my daughter wanted even though it was 100 degrees outside.

We were seated upstairs and excited about the quiet ambiance to share a special night—a birthday and a congratulations dinner for my son’s new job. But the group next to us let their toddlers run wild, virtually taking over the space. Our server never said a word but she did what she could to make it better for us.
