TYS Full Designs differ from Quick Designs in that they are more detailed and fine tuned. A landscape specialist comes out for a site survey to carefully access the conditions so we can choose plants that will thrive in them. We do multiple consultations with each client to be sure we are planning them the best space for their family.

Quick Designs are a wonderful choice for many people, but if you need something a bit more precise and researched, Full Designs are the way to go. I only take 1-2 of these at a time! Message me asap to get yours going so you can enjoy the new space as soon as this summer!

Here are some different parts of my previous designs.

INVASIVE! BEWARE!

I usually share lovely native plants and even some non native plants that behave themselves. But every now and then I want to throw in a warning for various invasive species. These should not be purchased or planted in our area and should be removed and safely disposed of when possible.

Bush honeysuckle
Lonicera maackii

I understand why folks struggle to part with this one. It holds some nostalgia for me as well, the first plant I ever foraged for "food" and a scent to send me sprialing backwards through childhood memories.

I know what bad news they are though. The leaf out early and they shade out, choke, and poison other plants (allelopathic). Their berries hold little nutritional value for wildlife but are appealing to birds who will spread them far and wide. They're taking over our woodlands and it can be tricky to remove them all in wooded environments.

You can help by replacing any you have on your property with native shrubs or trees and encourage your neighbors to do the same. I can do brief text consultations about removing them and choosing replacements for free; or we can schedule a longer consultation if you'd like more guidance and support.

Information gathered over a long bitter fight with honeysuckle over the years.

*Important* We are located in Saint Louis Missouri. When we talk about native, non native, or invasive plants, we are referring to our region specifically. Some plants may be invasive here, but native to where you live, or vice versa. Some non natives may behave well here but be invasive where you are. Always double check regional plant information before adding or removing from your landscapes!
