Mayor Sarno joined with NNCC for Increasing Diversity and Equity Workforce Initiative Kickoff Event

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Ward 1 City Councilor Maria Perez joined with the New North Citizens Council (NNCC) for the kickoff of the Increasing Diversity and Equity in the Addiction Workforce (IDEA Workforce Initiative). The initiative, which is funded through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, is based on the belief that all should have equal access to culturally responsive services that are reflective of their race, orientation, disabilities and cultural and linguistic background.
Mayor Sarno states, “I want to commend and thank our New North Citizens Council, especially Executive Director Maria Ligus, COO Jose Claudio and City Councilor Maria Perez for the tremendous work they do for our community, especially when addressing housing, mental health and diversity and equity in the workforce. My administration is proud to support this great initiative.”

Mayor Sarno states, “The redevelopment of Donna Blake Park will enhance our Old Hill neighborhood park. I am proud of my administration’s efforts, led by PBRM Director Patrick Sullivan, of investing over $111 million into our beautiful neighborhood parks for our residents and their families to enjoy. This comprehensive plan will provide our youth with a state-of-the-art passive and active recreational opportunities, including a splash pad, while also supporting my administration's climate action and resilience plan.”
