We are so close to stopping the silliness of changing our clocks twice a year.

In 2021, I carried House Concurrent Resolution 13 to ask the U.S. Congress to support the Sunshine Protection act. That year it passed the U.S. Senate before dying in the U.S. House.

This year, I am carrying Senate Concurrent Resolution 6 to do the same.

Today, the U.S. House passed it 308-117.

We just need the U.S. Senate to step up now!

It is time to “Lock The Clock”!

When they won their first state title with a perfect 32-0 season, we presented the Kenton Ridge Softball Team with a Senate Resolution on the Senate Floor in October.

When they REPEAT as State Champs with ANOTHER 32-0 season you present the resolution in front of a hometown crowd.

Well done lady Cougars. You have set an example for all of us when it comes to working together as a team!

July is the start of "County Fair Season" for the 10th Senate District. Starting this week, I will be at the Clinton County Fair, then the Clark County Fair, and the Greene County Fair which begins in August.

Please look for me at all these places.

Yesterday, we got to open up the Clinton County Fair by honoring a number of individuals at their opening ceremonies.

Besides being able to honor the Lane Heeg family and their contribution in their son's memory, we also presented a Senate Commendation for Leah Grant who helped organize the Lane Heeg fundraisers, the Wilmington American Legion Post 49, and Junior Fair Queen Serrenity Roth-Powers and Junior Fair King JR Evans.

Lightning and I also snuck down to the Hocking County Fairgrounds (ok not in my district) to compete in speed competitions at their fairgrounds. He helped me regain my lead in the 19-Over Division down there.

We have 94 county and independent fairs in Ohio. The fair boards across Ohio work so hard put on these fairs from June 6th (Paulding County) to October 1st (Fairfield County).

The Clinton County Fair runs all this week. The Clark County Fair starts July 24th. The Greene County Fair begins August 2nd.

Stopped out tonight to present a Senate Commendation to Lexi Rittenhouse for winning Junior Nationals held in Nebraska for her Grand Champion Bred & Owned Balancer Bull.

Of course, I didn’t get to see the actual bull because… well when you have a grand champion bull he gets put out in the pasture with the cows to do what bulls do! 🤷‍♂️

Lexi is a sophomore at the Global Impact STEM Academy.

This week was filled with meetings across the 10th Senate District.

Just today, I was off to Wilmington at 8AM for the Clinton County Port Authority Board of Directors meeting. Listening as they planned out the next several years.

I stopped for an hour at The Murphy Theatre, Wilmington, Ohio to talk with Amanda Martin and Steve Burnette, who run the beautiful theatre in Wilmington.

Then I headed back up State Route 68 through Xenia to get back for the retirement reception for Nancy Pence. Nancy is retiring after over three decades as our Clark County Recorder. She has set the bar for how to serve with grace, dignity and hard work.

Then I quickly headed over to the Woeber Mustard Company to tour their 121-year-old business with Ohio Agriculture Director Baldridge and our county elected officials. Their operation, with over 200 employees, was impressive.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, I had multiple meetings with constituents on everything from dental care for youth, career exploration with both the Chamber of Commerce and Muskingum University, to folks looking to create electric generation facilities across the state using the natural resources we have in the ground!
