Day 4 of gorgeous BATHROOM MAKEOVERS by Emily Wood Design Co.!

This bathroom had already been remodeled, and to the average eye, there was truly nothing wrong with it... or was there?

The vanity layout did not feel right to me as a designer. The clients had hired me to work on their beautiful bedroom, but this ensuite caught my eye. They confided to me that the vanity wall bothered them, but they just did not know how to fix it.

My design called for changing the lighting configuration, adding oversized mirrors to accommodate the off-centered sinks, and anchoring it all with a soothing, textured wallpaper which we also repeated in the water closet. We swapped the vanity stool out for a custom velvet one, providing the perfect needed contrast.

Our wonderful clients got the bathroom of their dreams without any additional major construction.

DAY 2 of gorgeous BATHROOM MAKEOVERS by Emily Wood Design Co.!

Today we have a dark and brooding wallpaper with a border that just did not age well. Our design called for removing the worn paper, dated cabinetry, cracking tile, mirror and light fixtures.

We replaced them with a stunning Spanish-sourced green variegated tile from floor to ceiling on the vanity wall. Gold was the perfect complement for our lighting, mirror, and plumbing trim. On the back wall we sourced custom oak shelves with automatic lighting concealed under each one.

This powder bath now packs a punch of personality and style. Simple but powerful changes for a small space.
