Quick rant… these pictures may not seem significant but let me explain. The most important and crucial part of a mitigation system is to dig out as much dirt as possible underneath the slab. Bigger pit = more radon to be mitigated. It’s not difficult it just takes a long time (peep the flathead screwdriver I use to go the extra mile) this was a Mitigation system that was put in less than one year ago by a different company. The homeowners got a retest to find out that their mitigation system hasn’t been working to its full effect. The original company did not get back with them so they called me to take care of the issue. I’ve been back on a lot of other companys work so I knew what the problem was as soon as they called. I cut the pipe open and lo and behold the suction pit was not dug out properly. This took me about one hour and I dug up about six more gallons of dirt. That six more gallons, a small extra step, lowered the radon level to an acceptable standard. 🤦‍♂️ Please do the research and make the right decision when picking a mitigation company.
