The late A. Louis Patterson, Jr. use to always say, “time is filled with swift transition.” The Bible uses the word “suddenly” several times in the context of a breakthrough, judgment, angelic encounters, and death. The sudden death of a loved one can feel catastrophic and even surreal. In some cases we often wish it was a nightmare and if we could simply wake up, everything would be okay. But it is in these sudden moments, we must recognize that the God of all comfort still cares.

He is our refuge and strength, turning our mourning into dancing and filling our hearts with hope. Let us lean on His promises and on one another, celebrating the love that binds us together as we trust that joy will come in the morning!

🙏 How can I pray for you today?

Prayer does not have to be complicated. You do not need fancy words or a perfect speech. God simply wants to hear from you.

Sometimes prayer is thanking Him for His blessings. Sometimes it is asking for strength when life gets hard. Sometimes it is just saying, “Lord, I need You today.”

The good news is that God hears the prayers of His people. No problem is too small, no burden is too heavy, and no situation is beyond His reach.

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." — 1 Peter 5:7

Imagine a large apartment building where one man secretly contaminates the entire water system. At first, nobody notices, but over time, everyone in the building starts getting sick. The children, the elderly, and even visitors are affected. Why? Because they are all connected to the same source. They did not personally pour the poison into the water, but they still suffer from what that one man did.

That is the picture Paul paints in Romans 5:12–21. Adam was the first man, and when sin entered through him, it spread to all humanity. We were all born into a broken system called sin. That is why nobody has to teach a child how to lie, be selfish, or do wrong; it comes with the package.

But here is the good news. Imagine another man comes into the building with the cure. Not only does he clean the water system, but he also freely offers healing to everyone who will receive it. Adam brought sin, death, and condemnation. But Jesus Christ brought grace, righteousness, and life.

Paul’s whole point is this:
- One man, Adam, brought ruin to everybody connected to him.
- One man, Jesus Christ, brings salvation to everybody connected to Him by faith.

So the question becomes:
- Which man are you connected to—Adam or Christ?
