Operation Wanderlust
Listen, Iām a girlsā girl.
If my friends are putting themselves out there, starting businesses, creating content, chasing dreams, or trying something new, Iām hitting like, dropping comments, and sharing it whenever I can.
Do I fully understand what Iām doing on Instagram? Absolutely not. But I do know how to cheer for my people. š
Close to a year ago, I made a promise to myself: slow down, spend more time with my family, and stop letting life pass by so fast.
Almost a year later, I can honestly say Iāve kept that promise ā and the memories weāve made have been worth everything.
Thank you Jayco for the goodies! We are so grateful to be part of the family and we canāt wait ti get back on the road for another epic summer RV trip!
If someone asked me for a great summer vacation spot in the US, the first place that would come to mind is South Dakota.
Itās one of the most underrated places to visit in the U.S. ā packed with incredible scenery, outdoor adventures, wildlife, and so many surprisingly cool things to see.
Considering buying an RV for an epic summer road trip? Do it! Jayco
August in Cape Town means winter ā lots of rain, cold weather, and usually clouds covering Table Mountain, making hiking pretty much impossible.
But somehow Lionās Head was open, so we took the chance and made the climb. Totally worth it for the views over Cape Town and the ocean once the weather finally gave us a break.
A lot of White South Africans will tell you to skip Johannesburg.
āItās too dangerous.āļæ½āJust go to Cape Town.ā
But if you go to South Africa and skip Joburg and Soweto, youāre missing so much of the countryās story.
Walking down Vilakazi Street ā the only street in the world where two Nobel Peace Prize winners once lived ā is incredible. Seeing Mandelaās home, learning the history of Soweto, and understanding the fight against apartheid gives you a completely different perspective on South Africa.
Yes, you need to be smart and aware like in any major city. But thereās so much culture, history, and meaning here that you simply canāt experience anywhere else.
South Africa is more than safaris and scenery. Johannesburg lets you feel its soul.
We saw elephants RIGHT OUT THE WINDOW in our lodge!
Kruger National Park was everything we hoped for and more. Staying at Nottenās Bush Camp made the experience even more unforgettable ā incredible hospitality, amazing game drives, and the chance to see the Big Five in their natural habitat was unreal.
Thereās nothing quite like heading out before sunrise and again at night, never knowing what youāre about to see next. Lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, buffalo⦠seeing these animals in the wild is something that stays with you forever.
My recommendation though? Three to four days is the perfect amount of time. The morning and evening game drives are amazing, but theyāre also exhausting after a few days. And honestly, while every drive is different, you do start seeing a lot of the same animals and experiences over and over again. I know some people stay a week, but for us that wouldāve been way too long. Three days felt like the perfect balance to fully experience Kruger without it starting to feel repetitive.
Overall, an absolutely incredible South African experience and one weāll never forget.
