🏠 What’s Under Your Shingles Matters Just as Much as the Shingles Themselves!

When most homeowners think about a roof, they think about the shingles. While shingles are extremely important, one of the most critical parts of your roofing system is what goes underneath them.

At Restore Roofing And More, we install high-quality synthetic underlayment across the entire roof deck. Synthetic underlayment provides superior protection against moisture and is much more durable than traditional felt paper.

In addition, we install Ice & Water Shield in all critical areas of the roof. This black rubberized waterproof membrane is installed along the eaves (gutter lines), in roof valleys, and around vulnerable roof penetrations where leaks are most likely to occur.

Many cities require Ice & Water Shield by code, but regardless of local requirements, we make sure every roof we install receives the protection it needs.

A quality roof isn’t just about what you can see—it’s about the complete roofing system working together to protect your home for years to come.

🏠 Did You Know?

Many homeowners have older homes with spaced board decking beneath their shingles. What most people don’t realize is that if the gaps between those deck boards exceed 1/4 inch, many building codes, manufacturers, and municipalities require corrective action before a new roof can be installed.

Your roof decking serves as the foundation of your entire roofing system. If the decking has excessive gaps, deteriorated boards, or does not provide a solid nailing surface, it can affect the performance and lifespan of your new roof.

That’s why it’s important to have your roof inspected by a qualified professional who understands current roofing requirements and manufacturer installation standards.

At Restore Roofing And More, we inspect not only the shingles but also the condition of the decking beneath them to ensure your roof is installed correctly and built to last.
