On the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, we remember that Christ does not leave His disciples without a mission. He sends them forth to bear witness to the Gospel with courage, hope, and faith.
That same call remains with us today: to proclaim Christ not only in word, but through lives rooted in love, service, and care for one another — in our homes, our communities, and in public life.
While some dioceses celebrate the Ascension today, many dioceses in the United States observe this solemnity on the following Sunday (May 17). Wherever and whenever we celebrate, the message remains the same: we are called to be witnesses of Christ to the ends of the earth.
