We are enraged that Philippine Consulate officials continue to be satisfied with their neglect of Kuya Rob, and all Filipino’s in detention.

Everyday they do not visit, is another day they suffer and face inhumane conditions!

FREE KUYA JEFF!! Join us this morning outside the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma to demand the release of Kuya Jeff!

06/07/2026

Kuya Jeff has been unjustly detained at the NWDC since late April. While the conditions at the NWDC are abysmal, the SEA & SF Consulates and ATN Officer Bernice Santayana are nowhere to be found, allowing him to remain in detention without any support. Please support Kuya Jeff as he fights to be released so he can support his pre-teen son and return home so he can secure livelihood and enjoy his freedom.

Please mobilize to the Northwest Detention Center on 6/8 at 8:30a to support Kuya Jeff and demand the release of him and all unjustly detained migrants.

Please consider donating to his family’s GoFundMe tinyurl.com/KuyaJeffGoFundMe

Free Kuya Jeff and all unjustly detained migrants!

FREE KUYA ROB! SIGN THE PETITION NOW:

http://tinyurl.com/kuyarobpetition

Kuya Rob, also known as Kuya Lu, is a Filipino migrant who has been unjustly detained for over 300 days. He immigrated from Zamboanga, Philippines, as a child and grew up in California. He has raised a family here in America and is a father to a wonderful 12-year-old son.
Kuya Rob was released early on good behavior for a non-violent conviction in California, but was kidnapped by ICE and sent to the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma upon his release — separating him from his family.

During his time at the Northwest Detention Center, Kuya Rob has reported inhumane living conditions (e.g. worms, rat f***s, and mold consistently found in his meals, dirty drinking water from the contaminated ground, no privacy from other detainees, etc).

On May 12th, Kuya had alerted Tanggol Migrante Movement WA that the Northwest Detention Center had transferred multiple migrants from his unit to other ICE facilities in Texas and Louisiana due to overcapacity. Migrants within detention were moved with no warning, no signatures of consent, and despite having pending appeals.

It is the consulate's responsibility to serve Filipino nationals, and in Kuya Rob’s case, it is their responsibility to intervene in his continued unjust detainment.
We demand that the WA Philippine Consulate immediately:
1) Intervene to demand the release of Kuya Rob from his unjust detainment to be reunited with his son.
2) Exercise diplomatic pressure to prevent Kuya Rob from being transferred to any other detention facility away from his support network.
3) Conduct a welfare check and an investigation into the conditions of the Northwest Detention Center.
4) Grant Kuya Rob and his family Assistance to Nationals funds.
5) Meet with The Tanggol Migrante Movement and provide transparency in the Consulate's involvement in Kuya's case. In addition, we demand that the Consulate officials, Henry S. Bensurto Jr., Leilani Feliciano, Bernice Santayana, Neil Ferrer, Babe Romualdez, and Ferdinand Marcos Jr.- Face the people!

🥳 🎉 MIGRANTE SA U TURNS 1 YEAR OLD 🥳 🎉

Maraming salamat po to all who attended our meryenda to celebrate our launch anniversary! In May 2025, we launched our organization of Filipino migrant workers to defend the rights and welfare of our kababayan at our hospital and fight against the roots of forced migration. Since then, our Migrante chapter has:

✅ Helped release multiple kababayan from ICE detention including our coworker, Aunty Lynn
✅ Won the reinstatement and full back pay of our Migrante member, Mika, who was retaliated against for organizing
✅ Led educational discussions on the roots of forced migration
✅ Hosted meryendas and gatherings to bring Filipino workers together
✅ Combined our campaign work across the country to confront the DMW Secretary on the situation of Filipino migrant workers

The fight is not over and we look forward to continue our campaigns and fight to change society so no Filipino is separated from our families and home country! Join us as we continue to fight for the release of Kuya Rob/Lu and Kuya Jeff from detention and for the right to organize at work without retaliation! Join us at the Kalayaan Summit (6/26-27) in LA to fight as one Filipino movement for our freedom!

SUMALI SA MIGRANTE!

Tanggol Migrante Movement + Migrante sa U celebrates the one year anniversary of Aunty Lynn’s release from unjust detention!

From the start of Trump’s second administration we witnessed the rise in fascist attacks and detainment of migrants. It is from within this struggle that new organizations were formed, fighting for the rights and welfare for migrant workers and demanding the Philippine government be held accountable in their responsibility to aid our kababayan in distress, which they have failed to do.

It is our kababayan in detention who have fought every single day not only for their freedom, but for their rights and welfare for each other. With our mass movement working alongside them to rally for their release.

OUR FIGHT IS NOT OVER!
While Marcos, the #1 exporter of the Filipino people runs for a seat on the UN security council, our kababayan still today face the same neglect and conditions at the hand of ICE and the Philippine Consulate.

We demand for the immediate release of all our kababayan in detention!

JOIN US on June 8th for a National Day of Action at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, time TBD!

Hear the story and hardships of the mother of Kuya Lu 🌙

On Mother’s Day, Kuya Lu’s mom flew in from California to visit her son for the first time in over a year, due to then being separated by Kuya’s unjust and cruel detention by ICE and GEO group

The Philippine Consulate has failed to aid or even contact Kuya Lu or his mother in over 11 months, leaving her to pay thousands in lawyer fees and navigating this cruel and confusing legal system by herself…

Yet Kuya Lu’s mom continues to fight every single day to free her son, and be reunited with him once again.

Now with the support of Kuya Lu’s campaign team and the Tangol Migrante Movement, she is ready to fight, and let Kuya’s story be heard 💫
