Lin-Lin Mao Mollitor became a eight years ago when she realized that drawing eyes felt strikingly similar to drawing a human eye. Chain-link fencing over landscape in the exhibition symbolize captivity and confinement, and reminds us of the systems humans use to control other living beings, all .

Please join Lin-Lin Mao Mollitor at The Friendly Gallery (4001 9th Ave NE, Seattle) tonight April 17, 5-8pm, during U District’s 3rd Friday , for a talk about her reflecting on her experience.

She would like to use this show to highlight the residency limbo that millions of Dreamers in the US are in today. A herself in the 1980s when she aged out of her parent’s visa, she wants the laws to be updated to provide a direct path to citizenship for children who were raised in the US and are American in every way but legally. The artist donated over $2,000 last year to Northwest Immigrant Rights Project from the sale of her wired flowers, and plans to continue donating to organizations who help the Dreamers.
