October 24 | 6PM | All Ages | $7

We are looking for stories that range from close encounters with hauntings, shadow people, the instinct that saved you from a potential true-crime incident; demonic encounters and cryptozoology nightmares to lived urban legends; true-crime, 6th senses, UFO sightings, curses or passed-down folklore. The long shadow of past lives, UFO spectaculars, trouble with curses, aliens who abduct, the secrets of the dogman, phantom hitchikers, the riddles of the cupacabra, timeloops, creatures in the mind, vampires; the reality, signals from space, leaving the body, anywhere dark forces meet. We want your personal tales of that haunted doll you ended up regretting getting on Ebay, encounters with a backwoods creature you thought was only from the stories that we tell one another around the campfire, spine shivering experiences with people who had bad intentions, the night spent in an abandoned house that was never really vacated, your recurring night terrors and brushes with monsters that claw deep within the darkness. Share your endless nights and shrieking tales..if you dare.

SUBMIT TO TELL YOUR STORY: 5-6 minute storytelling slot, told without the use of notes (like you would tell a friend)! Email or DM a brief description of your tale to [email protected] WITH SUBJECT LINE: TALES OF THE UNEXPLAINED to sign up for a storytelling slot.

FOR NON-LOCALS WITH A TALE TO TELL :
This year we are offering the option for non locals who want to share their horrifying tale to record themselves telling their story (voice memo quality or better is fine) and have their recording played the night of the event! So if you aren’t local but still want to join in on the hallowseve fun, or you have a friend with the scariest story you’ve ever heard, or that one uncle who found sasquatch tracks camping that one time, send them our call!

Death Rattle presents:
Notional Ekphrastic
Poetry + Fiction 🌱

Meet the writers:

Dona Ochoa is a creator from the City of Trees. Their work is influenced by travel, landscapes/ecosystems, music, history, arts, and esoterica. In July 2025, they released their first book, The Littlewolf Major Arcana, in partnership with Death Rattle Literary. You can find more of Dona’s work published in Death Rattle Literary’s Oroboro Vol. 4, Paper Plane Press Vol. 2, and Boise Spoken Word Collective’s Chapbooks (Vol. 1, 2, and 3). At the moment, they are writing a collection that reflects on heritage, family, and what we leave behind. If you’re trying to find them and they’re not baking crumble at home, Dona is probably at the river, drinking a cortado downtown, or ferally scampering through the foothills.

The Spill
Theme: “Saucy”
JUNE 27 6:30PM

👨🏻‍🍳Bring us stories with bite and full flavor!🍝

Think a dinner that spiraled, a recipe that went off the rails, a toast that said too much, or a moment that got deliciously out of hand. We want stories that simmer; think late nights, strong drinks, and questionable decisions. A text you probably should not have sent, a flirtation that escalated fast, or a night that turned into a story your friends still bring up. A mirror moment where you looked back and said, oh yessss… it’s giving. You don’t enter spaces, you season them bb. Give us just enough heat to keep things interesting. Marone!

Sauce is inherited & passed down, shaping each generation. Evolving with each retelling while its core remains; quietly shaping identity, choices, and connection. A legacy passed down like a secret ingredient. We’ll be serving it up rich and a little over the top. So don’t hold back on the gravy!
