Seattle Home Enhancement

We found some partitions in an old lean-to on a property we are renovating. We put some of them together, and they stand over 8' tall. Judging from the hardware used they are most likely from the 1950's. Some have people's names thumb-tacked on. Does anybody know what they could have been used for? Old ski-lodge lockers? Gym lockers?
