This post is a bit overdue, but I wanted to shout out for flying all the way from South Korea for a 2 hour soft opening of Personal Best at (and for bringing snacks, Korean skincare, acupuncture needles, a microcurrent machine, herbs and most importantly, one of my favorite people on this earth😍). My nervous system was pretty well haywire leading up to the opening- what sweet relief to have a friend who knows what you need before you do! (And one who makes it happen, when you can’t!) To say I felt loved and supported is an understatement- thank you, I so so love you, Ash. ♒️ 🍽️🍑 🍽️♒️

Also huge appreciation to my parents, who flew out on their 49th wedding anniversary from Hawaii to be here. I feel so thankful and fortunate to have had the opportunity to share this night- what a gift.

I feel overwhelmed by the number of people who have shown extraordinary love and support (too many to mention) but please know I truly, deeply thank you. Even those of you I haven’t met who have sent messages online- it all means a lot.

I’m still working on my front porch rebuild and spending time in quiet reflection, but I can’t wait to try and pay all of this forward in my next body of work. Come January, I’m jumping down the rabbit hole again.

Here I am standing with the amazing in front of her Arc de Triomphe, made of kiln fired glass and installed piece by piece at the . Hanging her piece took 2 weeks, and because of the scale, it was the first time she was able to see her work come together (and to know all her calculations were right).

My mom took this pic and didn’t capture the full piece do I guess you’ll have to go see it yourselves. (The whole exhibit is so much different in person and the Nelson is the best free museum in the country- I highly recommend you go!)I am so proud of this city. IYkYK. If you don’t believe me, come thru.

I can’t quite articulate the joy and emotion filling my heart after the soft opening of Personal Best at the Nelson-Atkins Museum last night…. I am so honored and proud of everyone involved.

Please join me tomorrow (Saturday, Oct 18) when the show will officially be open to the public. I will be in the gallery from 1-3 along with some of the other artists. Hope to see you there!
