Thanks to for this tip!! 💚
“I have SO many containers of water from my dehumidifier, and I use it to water my one house plant and sometimes to soak containers that I'm saving to take to my local zero waste store for other folks to use!”

No Waste Wednesday Tip #108 ♻️
Make sure your car’s tires pressure is up to manufacturers recommendation. Look on the driver’s side door jam to find the recommended PSI. Keep a air pressure gauge in your car and check it once in a while. Depending on how often you drive, if the weather has recently changed, and other factors can affect your tires pressure. Every other time you fill up the gas tank or once a month is a good rule to keep in mind. And don’t forget to get an oil change if you need one! Check that dipstick! ☝️

The first custom order to be released after reopening is going to be PANTIES!! 🩲I’m workin’ workin’ workin’ on improving my techniques to make sure I create the highest quality garments out of the reclaimed materials. I really love printed elastic so I found a way to make it work better than before, but I’m also working on other options. That’s the idea. That you’ll be able to custom order your panties how ever the heck you want. High or low waist? High cut or low cut leg holes? Elastic or bias tape edges? Boy cut(low), hipster (med), or cheeky(high)? Made to your body measurments. If you’d like to be reminded when pre-orders will be available sign up for my newsletter thru the link in bio! ☝️

When I was a pr***en I had a sewing machine I would dabble with now and again and I made this tree scene. 🌳 I think I had planned to make a tote bag but never finished it. I do remember doing it because I was trying to use up scraps tho! I have always had a desire to use up waste in innovative ways. Even the black background was a square piece of fabric I rescued from someone else’s trash. I am really blown away with this little scene because not only was it eco-conscious, but its really artsy as well, at a time when I would have never considered myself an artist. It’s experimental, textured, has great contrast, and its a fall vs spring sort of motif that was pure raw talent, nothing that I intended. I found it when I moved to the apartment in Seattle and set it aside to do something with, and eventually decided to make it into a throw pillow for my bed. I’ve adorned my bed with it for a couple years now, but decided its so on brand that I have to share it with you! 🤍
Being very productive behind the scenes while also enjoying my social media break! Growing as a person and a business! 🌱 Also releasing a blog on my Patreon about my personal life today if you’re interested! Link in bio to sign up, its FREEEEEEE to sign up and for May/June!! 🌈

Last week I failed horribly. I wanted to do something clever and efficient and I just fumbled. I had been saving several white pieces of clothing that I wanted to keep for myself and dye into something beautiful while also using up my rit dye stash. Well at least I used up some of my stash. Many people have told me to stop using rit because it doesn’t give bright results and often fades very quickly. I agree with that, but I also don’t want to waste what I already have so I decided to do something creative and fun. I also tried using a higher concentration of dye to water to try and get more saturated results.
Well here’s the truth. I really fu**ed this up. I prepped well and even wore gloves this time and let everything soak in its concentrated hot dye bath overnight. But then I put everything (I did reds and pinks and greens and blues) in the wash together and wow, what a mistake. They all came out dull and all the colors mixed. I threw everything back into the wash by color and it brightened up some but all these colors together look like crayon vomit to me. I hate it. I almost cried. There was a beautiful dress that ripped in a couple places, a knit top from White House | Black Market 😢, a jumpsuit, and these thigh high socks. I cannot express how ashamed, defeated, and just bummed I am. 😞
I truly don’t know how to fix it. I don’t feel inspiration to rework these things, especially when the color is such a mess. I am sad that I finally got around to making something for myself and every piece went so horribly wrong.
I want to throw all of these things in the trash and forget it ever happened but I won’t… yet. I need to recover from this loss and take a look at it later when I’m not so upset. I wanted to share this because one its the only creative thing I’ve done lately and well, its content, but two, I also want to share that everyone makes mistakes, even those of us with college degrees in our fields. We just usually don’t share it. Here’s to all the mistakes that are merely stepping stones to success. 🥃
If anyone has any suggestions on what dye I should buy and more importantly where to find it (I’m in Canada) please say so in the comments! 👇
