I woke up late as I slipped away from a visitation dream from Grandma MaryJane. She and Aunt Margie and my mom where standing at the entrance to a festival something like Bumbersoot, sort of ushering me forward. Then MJ looked emotional, and did a slooooowww 2-eyed cat blink which produced a tear. We had just cracked open a brand new Scrabble game the night before and this is her game, my mom’s too, they were ultimate masters. I had trouble finding a word and felt lead to place MOM, for something kinda measly on the point scale but I just knew she needed me to put her in the game, ya know. I’ll have to find some art for this salon wall to represent Trudi (mom) as well. We have MJ on the right, me in red (I drew it) and my spunky 11 yr girl Indi made the bottom left as a toddler. I’ve been feeling the matrilineal generations a lot lately, I do wish we could all be here together celebrating scrabble and food and the comforts only being with mothers can bring.
