Magically Nerdy

Man it’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here. If you’ve been following me for a while or if you’re friends with me IRL, you’ll likely know my struggles with my neurodiversity and for some reason since probably around Christmas time(especially after the dopamining of the holidays ended) my brain has been a sieve. Executive functioning has been very hard. I have, however, been utilizing crochet as a way to regulate so there has been a LOT of those projects. I don’t know what made me want to do it, but I randomly went searching for a purrgil amigurumi pattern one night and somehow managed to find one on etsy from . I’d never done amigurumi before but I bought the pattern without thinking twice. It took me a while to complete (probably a month/ month and a half) despite cranking out nearly the whole body in a few hours just because I unwind with mindless/repetitive patterns and this requires stitch counting and concentration. However, the other day my back desided to give out and I used my new found couch time as a sign ton finish him. It feels good to had one less project staring me down but also? I love him. 😂 he’s imperfect but he’s mine (actually, I’m pretty sure my 11 year old will be stealing him). I tried to make mine look like the stickers I made for handing out at cons and I’m digging the effect of the gradient yarn. I also made some crochet/sewn eyes and I’m glad I did. The mandala ombré yarn really gave me the look I was going for with the eyes. Pretty happy with my first amigurumi. I doubt this is the start of many (I’ll mostly stick to wearables and blankets but this was a fun project to work on and I’m glad I decided to try something.m new.

Life gets busy and I get so behind. I we had a Pirates of the Caribbean themed birthday party for my sweet spunky pr***en last spring so naturally, that meant we’d be doing some cosplay photos. I took a TON of them and immediately got overwhelmed. I only edited a couple that we took on one of our local trails and left all of the green screened photos untouched. I still have many to go but I did finally edit some last week. It’s been a fun thing to do in between the crochet projects that I’ve thrown myself into lately. I hopefully will be getting back into costume making for here soon but I’ve really been enjoying the portability of crochet for the last decade or so but have finally started teaching myself new stitches and have transitioned from blankets to actual wearables and that’s been so fun and satisfying for me. Anyway, these edits can take anywhere between 30 mins to a couple of hours for me to complete so I took a small break again but will be resuming them again shortly because these may be some of my favorites yet because she genuinely enjoyed playing the part of Elizabeth Swann. And for the record, this is all and zero AI… 💛just years of photoshop experience, a greenscreen, stock photos and so many photoshop layers 🙃
