True credit repair is an interactive process. Those claiming to repair credit instantly for a low fee, are simply sending out contest letter (called submission in industry parlance) in hopes that many will not respond. Many large creditors have learned to respond to such form letters with automated form responses that credit bureaus often recognize as sufficient responses. This is both not effective, and not permanent.
