I have a bit of perfectionism in me which often leads to projects not happening because of fear/not getting the first step just right. I've been wanting to carve a block for a while, but I'm not very good at drawing and dreaded this step so it hasn't happened. To try and change that, I decided to carve a block without over thinking - I picked a super simple image I love, drew it freehand onto the block (there's no erasing pencil lines on these rubber blocks as far as I know) and went with it. It's not what's pictured in my head, but I had fun making it and I'm liking its imperfection! I think an imperfect project is much better than a project that's just stuck in my head :) I also got to use my new set of Flexcut Carving Tools I got for Christmas!
