Narciso Barranco, the Orange County gardener whose deportation case drew national attention last year, is once again facing uncertainty as federal immigration officials appeal a judge’s ruling that had previously dismissed his case.
His case was dismissed last month because a federal judge found enough evidence that he qualified for parole in place due to having three marine sons.
But in a statement DHS told us they are appealing the judges ruling because nothing changes the fact that Barranco is undocumented.
Dolores Huerta, a civil rights icon who founded United Farm Workers with César Chávez in the 1960s, revealed more personal details about her allegations of s*x assaults by Chávez and explained why she stayed silent for decades.
In a interview with Latino USA, a public radio program focused on Latino communities and issues, Huerta said she feared speaking out about Chávez would damage the union and the workers rights movement that she and Chávez spearheaded.
