Sandusky Recreation Department Presents Midtown Supper Club MSC-VIII – Wild Wild West
This TWO-TIME award-winning program is back for Season EIGHT. The Chefs-in -Training have been hard at work to develop their culinary skills with Chef Byron McMorris, Executive Chef at Ciao Bella Restaurant , and Chef Bruce Thompson, Executive Chef at The Commons of Providence. This Season, the theme will be Wild Wild West, so dust off your boots and grab your hat — we’re throwin’ a rodeo-style shindig you won’t wanna miss! We’ll have hearty grub, toe-tappin’ tunes, and plenty of Wild West fun. Whether you’re a seasoned cowpoke or just in it for the Frontier Fixins, your presence will make the night even more legendary. You will be going on a journey out West cause “There’s Gold in them there Hills!!!”
If you choose to, you can dress in your best western wear — think boots, denim, fringe, and a little bit of swagger. Bonus points for a big ol’ belt buckle!

Good day folks!! **Long post alert!!** Oh nothin, just the MSC-8 chefs in training on a field trip for 1st time in program history. Thank you to Chef Bruce for providing safe TCOP transportation and shout out to Chef Byron for providing an awesome experience for these kiddos! We were greated at the door, then escorted to our seats. We met the staff and toured the back of the house then back to our seats and waited for what our noses were smelling and tummies were craving… FOOD! And boy oh boy!! We received stellar service and were served 4 courses family style! Salads were served first…..yumz, next, outstanding Italian wedding soup, another yumz!! Sorry no pics of the entrees, we dived right in and forgot to take pics of the choices of Handmade fresh Pizza -cheese, pepperoni, sausage, then out came delicious spaghetti and meatballs, then out came chicken Alfredo pasta, and then finally the ooh la la desserts- Tiramisu, cannolis and lava cake! Whew! Oh and to further enhance the experience, Chef Byron gave them a chance to be “hands on” briefly in the kitchen! What a joy watching those chefs in trainings faces light up! Can we say IMPACT?? This is good stuff here folks!! Ciao Bella did not disappoint. Wonderful staff and delicious food!! Don’t forget to grab your tickets today for the Midtown Supper Club Season 8-Wild Wild West! This TWO TIME State of Ohio, award-winning program is being brought back for season EIGHT. Lock in your spot for Monday, January 26, 2026, for your child(ren) to have an in-person interview with Chef Byron McMorris from Ciao Bella Restaurant and Chef Bruce Thompson from The Commons of Providence. Chefs in Training will interview to be accepted into a six-week,12 session program which will meet Monday and Tuesdays starting January 27, 2026, from
4-6:00 pm. These sessions will culminate into a fundraising Midtown Supper Club VIII-Wild Wild West @ Mills event on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, at the Sandusky Rec @ Mills from 5:30-7:30pm. Proceeds from the dinner benefit the Sandusky Recreation youth scholarship program.
Your child(ren) must be able to do an interview (Monday January 26, 2025, 4-6:00pm with the Chefs AND commit to attend classes Mondays and Tuesdays (BOTH days from 4-6:00pm) for 6 weeks, (12 classes) in order to be accepted into the culinary portion of this interest-based program. Once the interview has been completed, an email will be sent to the
parents/guardian with further instructions on how to register and pay online. This year in order to leave a greater impact on the chefs in training and to offer more enhanced, detailed instruction, this year spots will be limited to12 chefs in training total.
