This what we all should strive to be!
What should have been a championship celebration turned into a remarkable lesson in honesty.
The girls basketball team from the Academy of Classical Christian Studies in Oklahoma City believed they had won their state title with a thrilling last-second basket.
The scoreboard showed a 44-43 victory.
Players celebrated.
Parents cheered.
The championship trophy was theirs.
But later that evening, Coach Brendan King couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right.
He went home, replayed the entire game, and counted every basket himself.
When he finished, he realized the scoreboard had made a mistake.
The final score should have been 43-42 in favor of Apache High School.
League rules meant the official result could have remained unchanged.
No one would have questioned it.
But Coach King chose honesty over a championship.
When he shared the news with his players, they immediately agreed the trophy didn't belong to them.
Without hesitation, they asked the league to recognize Apache High School as the true champions.
The request was granted.
Coach King personally delivered the championship plaque to Apache High School, where players and coaches thanked him for his extraordinary integrity.
Reflecting on the decision, one Academy player said, "It would have felt wrong to keep the trophy."
What began as a championship celebration became a lasting reminder that true victory isn't always measured by the scoreboard. Sometimes, the greatest win is having the courage to do what's right, even when no one expects you to.

The nicest part about being a Delagate is the adventures. Today I got to spend with representative Tim Dukes. What a gentleman he is. Excellent day even got to hang out with the governor and Mrs Petty John. If you don’t know her, she was Eddie Petty Jon’s wife. Back in the day he was the best dirt track driver around.
