Professional roofing. Questionable sound effects.
We asked the crew what sound a gun makes…
Then we let the nail gun do the talking. 😅

This morning, thanks to Marion County PD and to the kind person that reported it, we recovered our stolen van.
While a number of tools are still missing, we were genuinely surprised to find that a good majority of our equipment was still inside. Considering the circumstances, we feel incredibly fortunate and relieved.
Because of that, we will be issuing refunds for all GoFundMe donations.
It's been a roller coaster of a week, and we're grateful to finally put this behind us. We're looking forward to moving ahead, getting back to work, and focusing on what we love most, serving our community.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all!

Ending the GoFundMe today
Not because we don’t appreciate it. We do. More than words can explain. We even had GoFundMe and KGW8 reach out about running a story and it feels like having the world in our corner.
But it doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel true to the type of people we are, or the type of business we’re trying to build.
To everyone who donated, shared, sent a message, prayed, offered equipment, or simply showed us that you care, thank you. Truly.
The money helps, but honestly, just seeing that people cared. Friends, family, customers, and strangers. It reminded me that what we’re building here is bigger than just a roofing business.
If you want to help us, hear our story. And if it resonates with you, share it and, years from now, don’t forget what Moss Boss Roofing was built on.
Moss Boss Roofing launched last year in May 2025.
When we started, we had an all white 1996 Ford E250 cargo van with a license plate 929 MEM, along with a single fold out ladder, a handful of used tools, and a whole lot to figure out. Joe brought the roofing experience, and I started learning the business side as we went.
Our first year was rough, we didn’t start with much.
But we just kept going.
Little by little, day by day, we built, we worked, and improved. And one by one we earned trust of each of our customers.
Overtime it became apparent, this was what we love to do. Our customers are happy, our crew is pumped, and we’re heading into our 2nd year more ready than ever.
And if things couldn’t get any better, we were named as winners for The Best in Willamette Valley in roofing.
We felt proud. We felt grateful. We felt like all the hard work was finally starting to pay off.
And than just two days later, our van goes missing.
Inside that van was approximately $12,000 – $15,000 worth of tools and equipment.
Now we’re here sitting in July, one of the busiest months of the year for roofing in Oregon, with most of our equipment gone.
Even if the van was recovered, even if insurance eventually helped, were still stopped in our tracks during one of the few good stretches of roofing weather we get here in Oregon.
Every day that passes, it sinks in a little more. That humble white cargo van with a license plate 929 MEM, that held our tools and equipment may never come back.
It felt like sabotage.
I ‘m ashamed to admit, I sat in that feeling longer than I should have. I moped around. I felt sorry for myself and I kept wondering “Will we be ok?”
And the answer is: Yes, Moss Boss Roofing is going to be ok.
Not because roofing is easy. Because It’s not. Or because we have money like that, because we don’t.
It’s because while this was a hard setback for us, there are people in our community facing far worse every single day. People losing homes. People battling illness. People wondering how they’re going to feed their families. People camping in our streets.
Yes, it sucks. Yes, it set us back. Yes, it came at one of the worst possible times.
But we’ll get through this the same way we got here: hard work, resilience, faith, and the support of the people around us.
So if you want to help Moss Boss Roofing, just share our story. And if you know someone that needs a roofer they can trust, mention our name.
————————
Have a happy and safe 4th of July all. We’ll be closed today, Friday, July 3rd in observation of Independence Day and the 250th birthday of the United States.
We hope everyone enjoys a fun, safe, and memorable holiday. Happy to report we’ll be resuming normal operation Monday morning.

The work goes on.
Old roof off.
New system on.
Home protected.
It’s taking care of homes.
It’s serving our neighbors.
It’s showing up and doing the work.
This is what we do best.

We are truly humbled by the support we’ve received from our community.
Since sharing our GoFundMe, people have reached out in ways we never expected. Friends, family, customers, neighbors, and even complete strangers have offered support, shared our story, donated, and even offered to let us borrow equipment like ladders and compressors so we can keep moving forward.
As a small family business, we take a lot of pride in being self-sufficient. We love being the ones who show up for others, and asking for help has not been easy for us. But the way this community has stepped up and taken care of its own has been incredibly humbling.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for every donation, every share, every message, every offer to help, and every word of encouragement. It means more than we can properly put into words.
This setback hit us hard, but your support has reminded us why we love serving this community in the first place.
Thank you, Willamette Valley, for standing with us.

This is not the post we expected to make after such an exciting week.
Just days after learning that Moss Boss Roofing was voted Best of the Willamette Valley Silver in roofing, our work van was stolen with most of our equipment inside. For a small, family-owned business that just finished its first year, this hit hard.
We’re thankful for the support, shares, messages, and encouragement we’ve already received. My brother’s original post was shared over 100 times and seen by more than 10,000 people. The amount of people asking how they can help has honestly been overwhelming in the best way.
The van may still be recovered, and we’re continuing to work with law enforcement. Unfortunately, with it now being several days later, we know there is a strong chance much of the equipment may not come back. We are currently facing an estimated $12,000–$15,000 loss at one of the busiest times of year for roofing.
This has been an ugly lesson, but one we are taking seriously. Moving forward, we’ll be adding GPS tracking and additional security measures to our vehicles and equipment so we can better protect the business our family is working so hard to build.
We are not asking anyone to give. But for those who have already reached out asking if they can support us, we have created a donation option here:
https://gofund.me/5a74a1beb
If you'd like to help but can't donate, please know that your support still means a lot. A share, a recommendation, or a positive Facebook or Google review helps us tremendously as we work to recover from this and keep moving forward.
This first year has been full of challenges, blessings, long days, and a lot of lessons. Being recognized by our community meant the world to us and seeing that same community show up for us during a hard moment means even more.
Thank you, Willamette Valley. We’re down, but we’re not out.

Out with the old, in with the new. ’Tis the season for a roof upgrade.
We finished tear-off yesterday, and installation of the new roof started this morning. We’ll be sharing some before-and-after photos and videos later this week, so stay tuned!
06/23/2026
Mondays are for tear-offs.
Kicking off the week with a new roof replacement project by removing the old roofing system and getting the home ready for a fresh start.
Tear-off day is one of the most important parts of a roof replacement. It gives us a chance to inspect what’s underneath, check the decking, identify any hidden issues, and make sure the new roof is installed on a solid foundation.
Big shoutout to our crew for showing up, working hard, and keeping the job moving.
