Two years ago today, I lost my brother, Josip

On May 24th, he called me while I was holding Maya and Mateo was getting his bath. He asked me to call him back in a couple of hours, and I never did. We wanted to get the kiddos to sleep. I never knew that would be the last time I’d ever speak to my best friend. The happiness in his face and just the joy of energy from that call I still see it like it’s happening

Grief is hard. I’m trying every day to live and become the best version of myself because that’s what he always pushed me to be. I only hope one day I can be as good of a man as he was.

I still pick up my phone daily wanting to make that call and hear his voice again, but instead I stare at our photos and old conversations that now sit empty.

Life is fragile. We have to continue being grateful for what we have, keep pushing forward, and create a life filled with love.
