Rutherford Grill: Located at 1180 Rutherford Rd. Rutherford CA….. What a Find!!! Just walking in this restaurant you were treated to the amazing smell of smoked meats and an amazing Bar area. We were greeted quickly and informed of a 30min wait. It was lunchtime and the restaurant was hoppin. Based on the aromatics flowing through the restaurant, we we were definitely up for the wait. After waiting approximately 25 min in their courtyard waiting area, we were seated. Katie was our server and she was very attentive. Answering our questions and made us feel very comfortable. For lunch we decided on the Hawaiian Rib Eye & Thinly Sliced/Chopped Rib Eye French Dip….. The Rib Eye Steak dish came with house made shoestring French fries. The Steak was approximately 14oz and cooked perfectly to requested temp. Steak was tender and flavorful. The French Dip was loaded with approximately 8-10oz of flavorful thinly sliced & chopped Rib Eye. It was served on a house made sour dough roll that was strong and did not fall apart. The only slight miss was the Au Jus. Like Wheels & Tires to a car, the bread and the Au Jus are to this sandwich. The ajus was just a simple beef broth that just needed more depth and flavor to bring the dish together. Still tasty, I was just left wanting a little more ummpff. The Sandwich came with fries but I requested the coleslaw instead as I like to add a measurement to an establishment by their sides. The Slaw was flavorful and definitely worth the ask.
If you are in the area Napa, St Helena, Calistoga …..Put this location as a must try.
