In 2023, Michael was diagnosed with B‑cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, just one week before Halloween. 🎃

This photo was taken during that first week. Instead of trick‑or‑treating, Michael spent Halloween in the PICU, wearing his Chase from Paw Patrol costume while lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by monitors and machines he had never seen before.

B‑cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B‑ALL) is the most common form of childhood leukemia, accounting for the majority of cases in children. In the United States alone, about 3,100 children and adolescents under 20 are diagnosed with ALL each year, most of them B‑cell type.

For Michael, cancer didn’t arrive gradually; it arrived all at once, turning life upside down in days.

Meet 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹, a brave 5-year-old from Barnegat, New Jersey, diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. 💛
Since his diagnosis, Michael’s life has been a blur of fear and pain. Countless blood transfusions, numerous spinal taps under anesthesia, rounds of intense chemotherapy, two cycles of Blinatumomab, and a terrifying week on a ventilator. Michael’s mom, Kristen, shared words that lingered:
