Today we celebrate 250 years of American greatness — honoring the courage, sacrifice, faith, innovation, and determination that built this nation.
From 1776 to 2026, America’s story has always been about more than where we came from. It is also about what we are willing to build next.
At Monroe Energy Council, we believe honoring our past also means powering our future — with strength, responsibility, energy independence, and a renewed commitment to the communities we call home.
Happy 4th of July.
Honoring our past. Powering our future.

What if some of Rochester’s most overlooked land could become part of our energy future?
Brownfields, underused industrial sites, and legacy properties should not just sit idle while energy costs rise and demand grows.
If we’re serious about energy sovereignty, local generation, and long-term growth, we should be asking how these sites can be repurposed to help power Rochester’s future.
This is the kind of thinking Rochester needs more of.
What sites in our community do you think should be considered first?

Real local control starts upstream.
If Rochester wants lower costs, stronger reliability, and long-term leverage, we have to talk about where the power actually comes from.

Local control sounds good—but it only works if the underlying energy system is strong enough to support it.
That is one of the core arguments in our latest article: real local control requires real energy capability.
