In 2021 su***de was the eleventh leading cause of death overall in the United States, claiming the lives of over 48,100 people. My father being one of them, check on your loved ones , we are all human , we all fall short . I’m the first to admit when I think of men my first immediate thoughts are strong , superior , provider . Many men are afraid to express there emotions because of society’s expectations, fear of failure . If I could have another conversation with my Dad I would tell him that I love him , that it’s okay not to be okay, depression is an illness that requires treatment. Most hide it due to embarrassment i’m here today to say you are not alone , get the help , provide the support to someone that needs it . Check on that strong friend , a hug and a thought goes a long way. ❤️
Loosing a parent, the pain is indescribable 🥲

This page is dedicated to my beloved father who lost his battle to depression June 11, 2021. I thank God for giving me the courage to be a vessel to others , my father was the strongest man I knew, in fact all I ever knew was for him to be strong . Loosing my father has put so many things in perspective for me, things I use to overlook . I just want everyone to know it’s okay not to be okay . I’m no longer afraid to speak on mental health and depression, how it affected my father and how it also affected me . The goal is to create a safe space for others, provide support & the encouragement to keep going 🙏🏾✨
