Just a few weeks ago, these girls were living lives we can barely imagine.

For years, Molly, Rosie, and Willow knew cages instead of couches. Concrete instead of grass. Breeding schedules instead of family routines.

This weekend, Molly got to enjoy a little sleepover adventure. 🥹

First up: leash training practice with Willow. Then off to visit Rosie for a beagle reunion filled with sniffing, exploring, tail wags, and plenty of beagle conversations. ❤️

Watching them together is one of the sweetest reminders of how far they’ve already come in such a short time.

They’re learning how to be dogs.
They’re learning how to have fun.
They’re learning that life can be safe.

And honestly? We think they’re making up for lost time. 🐾

From laboratory cages to weekend playdates.

That’s what freedom looks like.

We’re beyond grateful for San Diego Affordable Spay Neuter.

We have worked with them for several years now, but we chose to partner with them for our Ridglan beagles because they now offer dental procedures on-site in addition to their spay and neuter services.

After speaking with their incredibly kind manager, Gabby, she assured us that every beagle would receive a full exam and bloodwork beforehand to ensure they could safely undergo surgery.

As you all know, these beagles have already endured more than enough suffering in their lives. Our goal now is to get them healthy while minimizing as much stress and trauma as possible throughout their medical care.

On Sunday, Molly went in for her spay and dental. During her procedure, the veterinary team discovered two abscessed molars that needed to be extracted. Thanks to their ability to perform everything during one visit, Molly was able to receive all of the care she needed without having to undergo multiple surgeries.

But what we are most grateful for wasn’t just the medical care.

Gabby kept us updated throughout the entire day, which meant so much to us and Molly’s foster family. The staff treated Molly with so much compassion and kindness. In fact, Gabby spent much of the day holding Molly in her arms and loving on her so she wouldn’t feel like she was locked in a cage anymore.

For a dog who spent years living inside a laboratory kennel, that level of compassion means everything to us 🥹🙏

As we begin scheduling our older beagles for their spays and dentals, we don’t yet know what their dental X-rays will reveal. Unfortunately, many of these dogs are likely to need extractions after years without proper dental care, and those costs add up quickly.

Every donation helps us continue giving these beagles the pain-free future they deserve.
