PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Dogs in Hot Cars**

Leave them at home. It’s that simple.

Leaving a dog in a parked car is not an inconvenience for them; it is a death trap. Dogs do not sweat like humans. They cool themselves primarily by panting, which is completely ineffective in a sealed, baking vehicle.

--The Fatal Math--
A car acts like a greenhouse. Even on a mild day, temperatures skyrocket in minutes.

Outside Temp: 70°F ➔ Inside Temp: 89°F in just 10 minutes.

Outside Temp: 85°F ➔ Inside Temp: 104°F in just 10 minutes.

In 30 minutes, it reaches 119°F.

>A cracked window does nothing to stop this, Parking in the shade does not stop this.

--The Consequences--

When a dog's internal temperature hits 109°F, heatstroke is imminent.
* Cells begin to die.
* Organs shut down.
* The brain swells.
* It leads to seizures, coma, and a painful death.

**What You Must Do**
-1. Leave your dog at home, if you are going somewhere they cannot come inside with you.

-2. Take immediate action if you see a dog trapped in a hot car. Note the car's make, model, and license plate. Go into nearby businesses to quickly page the owner.

-3. Call 911 or local animal control immediately if the owner cannot be found or if the dog is panting heavily, drooling excessively, lethargic, or uncoordinated.

Your errands are not worth their life.
