Tonight Microsoft begins the free upgrades to Windows 10 after midnight, aimed at users of Windows 7 and 8. I am hearing all sorts of horror stories already of programs not working, as with any new OS there are bound to be bugs and this is no difference. Windows 10 had an emergency security patch just last week or so for those that have been testing it out. My suggestion is wait a few weeks as things get hammered out, if you can't wait I say do so at your own risk.

July 9 2012 a Virus ?
Yes and No, actually today is when the FBI turns off the safety net servers that protected many users and maintained their internet connections. These users were infected with a DNS virus that allowed thieves to take over a user's computer through a redirect, the FBI replaced the rouge servers that controlled infected computers with clean servers. Today those servers will or have been shut down potentially leaving thousands of computers unable to connect to the internet. Fixing the problem may be easy to fix, I use spybot search and destroy and several other tools to correct the issue. Also I check to see if my network settings has been changed from Auto-detect to a proxy, which is mostly the cause of the lost connection. If your unsure of what I am talking about I advise contacting a reliable tech to check your network settings.

Warning: Lots of SPAM and Scams are running around, Even on FB, recently we received a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent saying they were calling from Microsoft and said they detected spyware had been installed on our system.

This was a scam from the beginning, how do I know?
1. I am a computer Tech, Guru and master of my machine.
2. If you allow everything access to your computer when you install software most likely your NOT safe.
3. Always update your Windows and Anti-Virus.
4. Ensure your Firewalls are working and not compromised.
6. Never visit unknown or unsafe websites.
7. Never open unknown e-mails, if it sounds too good to be true, then it is...

AND Never listen to callers saying they are from Microsoft, Yahoo, MSN, Google, etc. saying they detected something and want to take over control of your computer to fix the issue, 99.9999999999999% of the time they are a scam. HANG UP on them, tell them F*** U or report them to the authorities !!!
