One of the most special parts of this celebration for me was getting to reconnect with so many of the women who have walked alongside me over the years.
The night before the event, I had the chance to spend time with many of my students and assistants. We shared stories, laughed, and remembered so many moments from the journey we have been on together.
Not everyone could be there, but over the years I have had the privilege of training 20 students. Each one holds a special place in my heart.
Seeing these women again reminded me that this calling has never been mine alone. It has been something shared, passed on, and carried forward through each of them.

We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing volunteers who showed up before, during, and after the event.
From setting up to welcoming guests to making sure everything ran smoothly and helping clean up at the end, you made it all possible. Truly, we could not have done this without you.
Because everyone jumped in and served wherever it was needed, the entire evening flowed beautifully. It was a reflection of the same care and community that Nora has poured into families for 50 years.
Thank you for being part of something so special.

At Noraโs 50 Years of Midwifery celebration, every mama and baby received a special sticker marking their place in her incredible journey. Each number represents a story, a family, and a life welcomed with care, faith, and courage.
At the event, we officially announced baby number 1185. Since then, even more little ones have made their entrance into the world, continuing the legacy.

How many babies did Nora catch in this photo? ๐๐ถ
We had to use a drone just to fit everyone in one picture. ๐
If youโre in this photo, or if Nora was part of your birth story, drop a comment or tag your family. We would love to hear your year. โค๏ธ

Getting everything ready for this weekend. ๐๐
So thankful for this amazing team helping bring my 50th celebration together. From left to right, thatโs Brandon Ballard, our filmmaker and media guy, myself, and two of my wonderful students Anna and Jenesy.
And also Destiny, another one of my students who has been helping so much behind the scenes, all while caring for her brand new baby. ๐ถ We are so proud of her.
These girls (and Brandon) have been such a blessing, jumping in to help with planning, organizing, and making sure everything comes together. It means so much to see the next generation stepping in with such heart. โค๏ธ
It truly takes a community, and I am so grateful for each of these people.
We canโt wait to celebrate with all of you this Saturday, March 21. ๐ฌ๐ถ

Iโve been thinking about this photo a lot lately. ๐
In this picture, both of these mamas were expecting twins, preparing to welcome four babies into the world.
Now look at one of those moms with her twins all grown up! ๐
Moments like this mean so much to me. After walking with families through pregnancy and birth, getting to see those babies years later, grown and thriving, is such a joy. โค๏ธ
For 50 years, Iโve had the honor of being part of stories just like this. Generations of families, all connected through the moment life begins.
This Saturday, March 21, weโre gathering to celebrate those years together. ๐ We will also be sharing a short documentary about my journey in midwifery. ๐ฌ

There is something beautiful about the quiet moments after a baby is born. ๐๏ธ๐ถ
Ruth and Gerry Mead welcomed their baby in the peaceful birth suite that midwife Nora McNeill built in her own home for families to give birth in a calm and supportive environment. After the excitement of birth settles, there is time to slow down, hold your baby close, and simply be together.
One of the beautiful things about this setting is how naturally fathers can be present and supportive throughout the entire process. Moments like these often become some of the most meaningful memories a family will ever share. โค๏ธ
For 50 years, Nora has helped welcome over 1,200 babies into the world.
This Saturday 3/21 our community will gather to celebrate her incredible legacy. ๐
A short documentary film about Noraโs life and work in midwifery will also premiere at the event. ๐ฌ
