Alter Exploration

The first Alter tour of 2024 was filled with big scenery and big rides. Over 30 hours of riding in five days, just enough to get our fill. And, oh, the climbs and descents! Time to rest and soak in all that training.

If you’re looking for something extraordinary, bikepacking through Iceland is it. Rugged coastlines, roaring waterfalls, emerald green grasses, and bleak, black volcanic deserts—Iceland is a country of contrasts, all of which make it one of the most incredible landscapes on earth to traverse on a gravel bike.

Scenes from day 1 of our recent trip to the Santa Monica Mountains. The canyon climbs above the Malibu coast are the perfect venue for logging big miles. With an abundance of sun, big ocean views, and your choice of silky smooth pavement or dirt trails—or both—escape from the winter doldrums for endurance miles at their finest.
