Racine County Board Supervisor Jody Spencer is a lifelong Journal Times reader and recognizes that local reporters should make fair wages and not be replaced with artificial intelligence. She joined us June 15 at the Journal Times office when we presented our petition and several letters of support, including hers, to local management. Read Supervisor Spencer’s full statement below.

State legislators Rep. Ben DeSmidt , Rep. Tip McGuire and Sen. Bob Wirch recognize that reporters should make fair wages and have job protections from artificial intelligence. We urge Lee Enterprises to come to the table with a fair offer so we can reach a contract.
