Grateful for the quiet little community forming around my writing — thank you for reading, reflecting, and walking with me.

If you missed my latest piece, it’s still sitting with me. Maybe it will speak to you, too.

Sometimes people draw conclusions about what you have to offer — and they couldn’t be more wrong. “𝙉𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙟𝙪𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙖 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙗𝙮 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧” has followed me my whole life.

I didn’t have a degree.
I worried about that for years.
I do have certifications.
And because of it, people tried to pass me over, question my credibility, or assume I must’ve been handed something I had 𝙣𝙤𝙩 earned.

More than once, someone looked at me in disbelief when they learned I was a Comptroller before retiring.

What they didn’t see was the school of hard knocks.
Learning by doing.
Common sense.
The strengths I recognized in myself long before anyone else did.

Education is valuable — absolutely.
But so are resilience, grit, and the ability to keep going when the door closes in your face.

Even now, as a coach, some people want the polished 30‑second pitch.
That’s never been me.
My work isn’t a performance — it’s lived experience, relationships, trust building, and wisdom earned the long way.

𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙖 𝙡𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙉𝙊’𝙨.
𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙔𝙀𝙎’𝙨.
And sometimes the most important 𝙔𝙀𝙎 is the one you give yourself!

If you’re in a chapter of rebuilding confidence or direction, this is the work I do every day. If you ever want to explore it together, I’d be glad to connect.

And if reflections like this resonate, I share more in my Inner Shift newsletter on LinkedIn — a calm, grounded space for real growth and honest insight.

Let’s treasure what we have and take care of it while we can.

Earth Day invites us into a quieter kind of awareness — to notice what sustains us, what we take for granted, and what asks for our care.

Even the smallest acts of stewardship ripple farther than we realize.

These subtle moments often show up before the bigger clarity arrives.

If you’ve been feeling that lately, you’re not alone.
