I spent my Superb Owl Day, looking for just that…owls. I got to check in on a mated pair that is close to home. I got to see them, still don’t know what tree they have chose as the nest site. On the way home I saw an immature eagle on a roadkill deer in the median, an then later I saw a mature eagle eyeing another piece of roadkill, luckily it was just a raccoon and I was able to safely move it off the road for this beautiful bird to have a safe meal. When I can safely move roadkill off roadways, I always do. It’s one little way we can help prevent car strikes to all birds of prey and other scavengers who may be led to the dangerous area in chance of an easy meal. 02/09/2026

While I don’t get any SUPER flight shots I enjoyed just standing back and watching them interact with each other and the northern harriers that were also hunting.
