On July 31--TOMORROW--the General Plan Committee will review and comment on the complete draft General Plan.

Please review and note sections or language you want to give feedback on.

Once complete, staff will be sending out announcements regarding the public 60-day comment period and how you can participate.

CYMPO’s two proposed four-lane Sundog Highway routes are shown here. One will be selected and released in the Draft Concept Design Report by CYMPO-AECOM during first quarter 2024 although a NO BUILD option is required to be an option also. The public is very clear and consistent in supporting the NO BUILD option. No build is not the same as no road, because these projects can be revisited in the future. The public will have opportunities to comment on the Draft Design Concept Report. Reading this summary of the September CYMPO-AECOM open house will be useful. Full-length Alternative 3 is 3.5 miles from the jail traffic circle at Prescott Lakes Parkway to the Home Depot/Hobby Lobby traffic circle in Prescott Valley. It comes within 200 feet of neighborhoods.

Alternative 7 extends from the jail traffic circle on Prescott Lake Parkway to a proposed traffic circle on Sunrise Blvd in Yavapai Hills. AECOM has not disclosed what changes will be made to Sunrise to accommodate heavy traffic.

This would be planned as a 90 to 100-foot wide lighted highway that will conflict with the passive recreation nature of the Glassford Dells Regional Park and create a barrier to the already restricted movement of wildlife. This approximated width doesn't include. of course, the hillside setbacks that would be necessary for the huge roadcuts.
