William Henry Wall
was the first black notary in Stanly County, North Carolina. He was born in 1883 in Stanly County to former slaves. With a sixth-grade education, he worked as a brick mason and was active in his church and community.

He served as high school PTA president and was a superintendent of church schools for 50 years. He built many homes on Wall Street in Kingville. He died in 1967.
