Moose Threads
11/10/2017
OMG I’m FINALLY on the last part of the “7 year sweater” for my dad before I can seam this baby together and do the finishing.
Fingers crossed I can get it done.
WOW! I had no idea my page still existed.
Well, it's been a crazy four years since I went back to work - leaving me no time to crochet.
After much soul-searching I switched jobs and have picked up the crochet hook again - focusing on finishing gifts I started so long ago.
However, I still have a lot of small stocking-stuffer inventory I've saved and may expand on so let me know if you are looking for anything as the holidays approach.
It's good to be creative again!
Alas the time has come for me to make an important decision regarding the future of Moose Threads.
As many of you know, one year ago I was offered a part-time job by the amazing Hickner family who own Kitsap Mosaics in Downtown Poulsbo.
Well, that part-time job has turned into a manager position that not only allows me to use my hard-earned college degree, but also tap into another creative art outlet.
I have found so much fulfillment with my new position and it has opened up a ton of opportunities for my family as well.
When I started Moose Threads, 7 years ago, I never thought it would be more than a simple little hobby or that I would make life-long friends with many of my customers.
Crocheting will always be my first love and I will still accept the occasional custom request as time allows (Mara you will still get that blanket!), but I will be keeping my Etsy shop on permanent vacation for the time being, before eventually closing.
For those wanting to get some Moose Threads items for stocking stuffers, I will be at the Poulsbo Library on Nov. 8 from 1 -5 p.m. during the Fall Into the Holidays annual Shopping Event.
If you are out of the area and would like to see what I have on hand please send me a Private Message.
Thank you everyone!
My parents are visiting and for the first time in 5 years I was able to prove to my dad I started his sweater. I actually had a good portion of the back to show him!
Hopefully, I actually finish it before winter comes.
Hello there!
I know I've been pretty inactive on this page for a while. I apologize, but I promise I'm still crocheting.
Right now I'm working on a custom order and trying to sneak in items for an event in November.
Now that I'm working full time, which I haven't done since my son was born 8 years ago,I'm just trying to find a balance.
Thank you for being so supportive and patient!

This little 4-inch pouch was a special request. The color scheme was left up to me, but I was excited to do something with a penguin- my son's favorite animal.
Working on an adorable small zipper pouch for a friend and just signed up for a fall vendor event.
While I've scaled things way back this year I have to admit it is refreshing and a great kickstart to my creativity.

Finishing up some magnets!
I'm thankful this weekend has allowed me time to get some crocheting in.
Whew! What a whirlwind few weeks. I was knocked out with a horrible sinus cold, then the other half checked out of one command then flew back east for school.
House issues and well my regular job duties needed tending to.
I'm excited to be working on some custom orders and I'm giddy to be working on another baby blanket as a surprise gift.
I hope you are all having a fantastic day!
I'm feeling the itch to make a few more zip pouches soon, now that the owl, sub and elephant have all found homes.
Feel free to toss some ideas my way. =)

While the little owl pouch was snapped up this weekend these two are still available. They are 4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep and $14.
The sub pouch is lined with cute fish fabric while the kitty pouch has a fun feline-inspired lining.
