Portland is now 47th out of 50 major U.S. cities in police officers per capita.
Let that sink in.
Staffing levels are back to early 1900s levels—but with a modern population and rising demand.
Three former Police Chiefs are sounding the alarm:
➡️ Slower response times
➡️ Weakened public safety
➡️ Economic damage
This isn’t sustainable. Portland deserves better.

“SBG Korea. While I was extremely disappointed to miss Spring Camp, we were able to have our own instructors training event over the weekend. You will be happy and unsurprised to hear that one of our instructors--Woongtae Ahn, a former Korean Navy SEAL and current head of the Korean Coast Guard's Special Sea Attack Team--has now completed just about every military combatives program in the U.S.A., beginning a decade ago with Army Combatives, then moving to the Green Beret's particular version, and most recently the U.S. Navy SEALs version, and has come to the following conclusion: "It's all jiu jitsu, and it all resembles the classes you teach, with just a bit more awareness of and emphasis on tools/weapons and arresting/restraining." His session was awesome, and everyone not only loved it but was able to do everything right away because we at SBG still teach jiu jitsu for fighting. I taught the second and third sessions, and they were okay too:)”
