If you need me, I’ll be meditating on spring and summer weather… walking in alpine meadows carpeted with wildflowers… basking in the heady perfume of lilacs… feeling the sun kissing my skin as I sit on a picnic blanket, running my hands over the edges of fresh cut grass… these imaginings are how I get through the long gray days of winter. How do you cope?

Flowers are awesome. Obviously I love them. But remember, they are beautiful, but made more so as an adornment to the absolute beauty of love. In. That. Order. Always.

Truly, I have been so blessed to work with such amazing couples in 2020. The year has been a roller coaster, but it’s been such an honor.
I’ve rooted firmly in short term plans at the moment, not knowing what next year will hold. What a wild ride, right? But if Im purposeful with my thoughts, my gratefulness abounds.

Some things are simple. And that’s where all the magic resides.
I’ve been thinking a lot about all the BIG complicated aching issues of 2020, and I’ve come to a couple simple ideas that make me feel better. Here they are in case they make you feel better too.
Simple idea 1: nouns/things are not inherently good or bad, they just are. It is the meaning we ascribe to them that gives them weight, and complicates their existence in the world. If I let go of my attachment to my definitions of good and bad, I can also create more room for others’ definitions which may be different than mine.
Simple idea 2: We are not separate from Mother Nature, and our internal ecosystems are constantly adapting just like our external ones. Mother Nature is in us, and we are filled with a natural power like the power of a lightning strike or tempest storm. We can destroy, or we can nurture. The more we try to control nature both internally and externally, the more disassociated from our power we become. But disassociated as we may be, we can never be separate from Mother Nature. And neither can our actions be.
Simple idea 3: habits are powerful. I’ve made some good ones, and not so good ones in 2020. Fear is a great distraction, and can become a habit in itself. I’m going to practice letting the fear go, and see if peace can become a more rooted habit by this time next year.
Simple idea 4: the world needs more kindness.
Sending you all the love!
