Today I am mourning the loss of a dear friend of 30 years, Thulani Conrad Moore. We met through my wife Iris' Peace and Justice work for Mennonite Central Committee in 1996. We often got together for meals with Damascus Road Anti-racism trainers and worshipped together in a house church called "New Jack Mennos," an alternative to our regular traditional churches. We also played drums and music together in a community drumming group Commit No Violence (We played for Archbishop Desmond Tutu), in a multi-racial group of friends Revelation 7:9, another group Nobody Famous (I was the only white guy), recorded songs together at his home (We were neighbors in Lancaster, PA). I'm thankful that I got to see him last year at the 30th anniversary of Damascus Road Anti-Racism Training. Rest with the saints and ancestors, my dear friend.

With my wife Iris, who has work meetings in San Antonio, Texas and found this tiki bar, Hugman’s Oasis, on the Riverwalk. I immediately could tell it was designed by Bamboo Ben, I had a Painkiller and coconut shrimp and got a tiki mug. A nice small tiki bar.
