I’ve always been drawn to secondary cities.

Places like Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Sacramento, Baltimore, Portland, etc. Cities with real character and strong local pride, but often limited options when it comes to well-designed, everyday gear.

It’s part of what’s shaped how we think about Grafletics. The goal has always been to expand beyond our home market and help serve places like these in a more thoughtful way.

Our collaboration with Sacramento Republic was a step in that direction.

This wasn’t about over-designing anything. It was about understanding what already existed, identifying the gaps, and building around them using their brand assets.

A tri-blend tee that makes sense in the Sacramento heat. A women’s box tee that adds something new to the mix. Heathered fabrics on the youth side to keep things comfortable on match day.

We also introduced a quarter zip that’s already found its way into the club’s day-to-day. One of their executives wore it while announcing the new stadium, which says a lot about how the product is being adopted internally.

For us, that’s the win.

Helping build something that feels right for the market, and actually gets worn.

Here are snaps of our reissued Stadium Blueprint Tee - The home of Soccer City USA. If you didn’t know here are some fun facts to go with it:

1. Originally known as Multnomah Field, this location has hosted sports since 1893. That’s 130+ years of sports people!

2. The stadium was built by the in 1926 for about 500k.

3. It’s one of the oldest active stadiums in the U.S. Among major pro sports stadiums it ranks third behind Fenway Park (1912) and Wrigley Field (1914). It’s the oldest in pro soccer.

We’re fortunate to have this gem in our back yard. Years ago we did a photoshoot inside the stadium. When you look up at those historic rafters they tell a story. I’m not sure exactly what story, but it’s there and you can feel it.

It’s as if the pitch turned itself into a hat. Here are the notes on the Soccer City USA Sueded Trucker Caps:

1. The fit is dialed, no need to curve the brim, unless you prefer looking through a tunnel.

2. Two-color options: Let’s face it, not everyone’s built to rock kelly green. To combat that there’s also a cool grey, it goes with everything.

3. This is a partnership with and that’s where you can find them in-store.

4. We also have them online

5. If that puff embroidery doesn’t stir your soul, then I don’t know what does.

6. Do you prefer paying $60 for a made in USA hat? Me either, although sometimes I do. These are decorated right here in Portland.

7. If I’m honest, I think we’ve got the best inside hat label in the game. I think about it way too much.

8. I stole the Soccer City USA script from a magazine article in 1975. Just kidding, it came from my brain with no other reference other than I thought it looked cool.

9. Did I mention you can buy these at

10. If I keep my head down and keep working, what are the chances I could get bring these back when/ if Grafletics turns 40? Tunes out 27 years from now I’ll be 75. I like those odds.
