Love Shack Compassion Ministry
09/22/2025
Good afternoon! Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23rd is Love Shack Laundry that we do every other Tuesday for the homeless community at the ECO laundromat at 2601 SE 122nd Ave from 1-3.
We offer two loads per person which includes the detergent and fabric softener. All loads of wash need to be STARTED by 2:30 as we leave at 3pm and want to make sure they make it into the dryer. Please keep in mind the earlier the better as at times the machines get busy.
We do ask that you are there when both your washer and dryer loads have completed. If you have animals they need to be under your FULL control and not a threat to people or other animals. And lastly that you show respect to people and other businesses that are on that property.

The Hope Center is safe space for the community to find hope, healing, and belonging. It is a vital hub of violence prevention, youth development, and neighborhood care in one of Oregonβs most underserved and high-risk regions: Rockwood, Gresham, and East Multnomah County.
But now, due to federal funding cuts, this life-saving work is in jeopardy. Over last six months we've lost 90% of our annual operational budget of $600,000 (which supports 3 501c3 Non-Profits, 14 staff members, and community partnerships).
Every week, we provide safe spaces, structured mentorship, housing, meals, and crisis outreach β all free of charge. These aren't just programs; they are lifelines that prevent violence, build resilience, and restore hope.
What We Do
We are home to a network of community-powered programs:
π‘ ASIS Church and Recovery Support
Faith-based services and recovery support groups like Celebrate Recovery (3,900+ attendees) and AA (450+ attendees) bring healing and belonging to those navigating trauma, addiction, and isolation.
π‘ The Underground PDX
A prosocial youth development program using CrossFit-based fitness, mentoring, tutoring, and community-building to help youth build strength, confidence, and positive identity. We run free classes four days a week, as well as family dinners, one-on-one mentoring, camps, outings, and leadership development.
π‘ Adopt the Rock
Our boots-on-the-ground outreach team, providing meals, supplies, crisis support, and community clean-ups, all while building relationships with families who often feel invisible or forgotten.
π‘ Hope Center Homes
A transitional housing program for men in recovery. We provide a stable home, employment support, and accountability for men rebuilding their lives after addiction, incarceration, or homelessness.
π‘ Love Shack
A mobile care unit serving our unhoused neighbors with clean laundry (76,000+ lbs washed), meals, hygiene items, and conversation β restoring dignity and health one person at a time.
π‘ Juvenile Justice Mentorship
Our team teaches PE classes and mentors incarcerated youth inside the Juvenile Justice Center β offering accountability, connection, and a new path forward.
