In the early hours of June 28th 1969, plainclothes officers stormed the Stonewall Inn arresting its employees for selling liquor without a license, and in accordance with a NY state law that required citizens to wear at least three pieces of gender affirming clothing, violently arrested several of its patrons as well. For the next five days riots broke out as the LGBT community was outraged and tired of being targeted by unjust laws and police brutality.

Now, 57 years later, we remember their rage and their pain and their desire to simply exist as we are. Hate has no place in our lives and we celebrate with pride all of the things that make us who we are. Love is love. Happy Pride Month from Jumpstar Gemini!
