Organic farming requires our presence in the vineyard, thoughtful choices being made through the season, and the ability to allow each site to tell its story.

At Chestnut Hill Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountain AVA care in the vineyard means nurturing the vines in a slightly cooler environment.
Chestnut Hill is the very first site under the Lemelson name to be planted and sits at a higher elevation than the rest of the estate vineyards.
The high quality fruit allows our winemaking team to produce a Pinot Noir that is defined by red fruit, bright acid, and an unmistakable earthiness.
We believe this site produces wines with qualities often associated with Burgundy. Balance. Restraint. Clarity.

Margot may be the first one to admit she’s not really a “wine person.” She happened upon Lemelson a couple of years ago with two friends from her time as a river guide in Montana. The universe aligned and she found herself back here for harvest this year alongside her bffl Hannah.

She’s been all sorts of things before adding harvest intern to her list such as a rafter, arborist, and a ski coach. Whether she’s here for the wine or the people maybe we’ll never know, but what we do know is that Margot is a friend to all.
